W. Ronald Dietz
Dietz, W. Ronald Age 70, beloved husband of Carol Gies Dietz, was the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of the W.M. Putnam Company headquartered in Bloomington, IL. He had served as Chairman of the Board of the DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville, IL since 2010. Mr. Dietz was also currently serving as a Director of Capital One Financial Corporation, where he was Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of Anthem Financial and American Savings Bank of New York in Indianapolis, IN, where he also served on the Board of the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Starting his career at Citibank, NY, he became Senior Vice President and Division Executive in charge of operations in the Caribbean and northern South America. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy. He held an MBA from Stanford University. A resident of Lisle, IL, he is survived by his wife, Carol Gies Dietz; son, David Dietz, New York; stepchildren, Jeff and Cindy Gies; and grandchildren, Lindsey and Matthew Gies, Naperville, IL; Maureen and Thomas Strasser, Lake Bluff, IL; and brother, Bradley Dietz, New York. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 21st, at 10:00 a.m. at the Morton Arboretum Thornhill Education Center- 4100 IL Route 53, Lisle, IL 60532. Interment will be at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Ronald and Carol Dietz Early Learning Fund, DuPage Children's Museum.
