Andrew Tennent Sr., of Naples, FL, died on November 11, 2010 at Harbor Chase following a lengthy illness. He was 83.
Born in Hardisty, Canada on September 20, 1927, the only child of James and Jane (MacMillan) Tennent. He was raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where he graduated from Alberta University. Following graduation, he worked with Hudson Bay Company and later became the purchasing manager for Marshall Wells Wholesaler.
Both he and his wife, Mary, settled to Madison, WI where he worked for Sherman Williams for many years, and then moved to Oakbrook, IL and became paint sales manager for Hardware Wholesaler Company.
He was a member and Commodore at the Madison Yacht Club in Wisconsin. Following his retirement, he moved to Naples, FL where he has lived for the past 15 years.
Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary (Javaras) Tennent, whom he married on August 21, 1948. Also survived by his son, Andrew (Sumaira) Tennent Jr; two grandsons, Ross Michael (Mandy) Tennent, and James Andrew Tennent; and a greatgranddaughter, Stella Tennent.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Andy, Jr., I am sorry to hear about your dad, however from the news article it appears you had time to be with him. My father died recently, he was in NJ and my being in FL I didn't get to see him very often. It was unexpected, he was 84. I think of him daily.
