Diane Judith Wright, 51, of Seabrook, TX, passed away on Fridaym February 26, 2010, in Pasadena, TX.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Seabrook Community House, located at 1786 First Street in Seabrook.

Diane was born on January 20, 1959, on an American air base in Casablanca, Morocco. As an Army brat, she spent her childhood growing up in France, Germany, and America. After she graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School in Germany, she moved back to America and attended Kansas State University. Diane's first job brought her to Northwest Arkansas where she began working as a management trainee for ABF freight lines.

Within a year of moving to Arkansas she met her husband, Dallas. After a year of dating they were married on July 11, 1981. The newlyweds settled in the town of Fayetteville where Diane began a career as an Allstate insurance agent. Shortly thereafter, she gave birth to her first child, Dallas, on January 12, 1987. After raising her first son she soon began working on her Masters of Business Administration at the University of Arkansas. Upon completing her degree she also gave birth to her second son, Dylan, on September 26, 1989. A few years later in 1995, she changed careers from insurance to personal finance and began working for Merrill Lynch.

While living in Fayetteville she was very active in the community. She not only was a part of many groups, but she also personally reached out to families and individuals in need. Diane began the next chapter in her life when she and her family moved to the Clear Lake area in Houston during the summer of 1997. One year later she moved to Seabrook where she once again became very active in her community. She was elected to city council in 2003 and again for a second term in 2005.

In addition to city council, Diane was a member of numerous organizations such as the Seabrook Rotary Club, Sister City Program Galapagos, and multiple civic, environmental, and animal protection groups. As she did in Fayetteville, Diane never stopped reaching out to members of the community who were down on their luck and needed a helping hand.

She is survived by her loving family, husband Dallas; two sons, Dallas and Dylan; her father, Robert Lederer; brothers, Jack Decavagnal and Ralph Lederer; and mother, Carmen Waggoner.

For those wishing to make a donation in memory of Diane, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to any of the organizations she supported, the IBM bike team which Diane was a member for the BP MS150, which can be found on the BP MS150 website at http://www.nationalmssociety.org/chapte rs/bp-ms-150/index.aspx; the Seabrook no kill animal shelter http://www.secondchancepets.org; and Temple Beth Tikvah, whose website is www.templebethtikvah.org

This news is completely shocking, as Dee was the person 'most full of life' that I knew.
Dee and I were very dear friends in our Fayetteville, Arkansas, days. We continued to stay in contact until the last few years, and then just living miles apart and having 'busy' lives, we lost touch...now I regret not staying in contact with her, but my love for her never changed. I loved her like a sister.
I found out about her death just 2 days ago, and I am sorry that I did not know sooner. Dallas and the boys are in my prayers.
Much love and sincere sympathy to you.

I was fortunate enough to know Dee while she served on City Council. She treated all the city employees with respect and gratitude for the work we did for the city and council. I will always remember her for her wonderful upbeat personality and love of life.
We will all miss her. Thanks Dee for your friendship.

Dee was one of the nicest, happiest people we have ever met. When we first moved to Arkansas 18 years ago, we didn't know anybody except the people Dave worked with. However, Dee and Dallas threw me an incredible baby shower at their home to welcome me. I was 8 months pregnant when I got to Arkansas. What a warm, friendly welcome she gave me. Love ya Dee!!!
