E. Joanne Young, born December 24, 1926 in Phillipsburg, PA, elder twin daughter of Eunice and Cloyd E. Broberg, B.S. (Music Major) 1947, Master of Education 1951 both at Pennsylvania State University.
Married to Richard H. Young (deceased), raised five children, survived by Bruce Richard Young, Gail Suzanne Rasdorf, Patricia Evelyn Young-Buckert and Diane Cynthia Young, Grandson, Jesse Patrick Raling-Young, and granddaughters Emily Christine and Marie Alexandra Rasdorf. Her second son, Brian Broberg Young, died in 2004. She also survived by her younger sister, Jeanne Sementelli.
Upon graduation, she supervised music for four years in Pennsylvania. After raising her children, she returned to teaching music from 1972 to 1992 for Malden Schools in Massassachusetts. An accomplished musician, she played trumpet in York Pennsylvania Symphony as well as the Merrimack Philharmonic Symphony in Massassachusetts. She sang in the 250 voice chorale in Syracuse, NY and the Chorale in Andover, MA as well as Chorus Director and rehearsal accompanist for two performances every year with the Syracuse Musical Drama Company. Most recently, she was the accompanist for the Riviera Retirement Community Chorus along with numerous youth groups and a pianist at East Naples United Methodist Church.
Jo was an avid tennis player, swimmer and sailor and supported women's college sports at her alma mater. She was well loved.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 11:00 a.m., until 1:00 p.m., at the Fuller Funeral Home Chapel on Tamiami Trail in East Naples. The funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel.

Dear Jo's Family All,
You are all still in our prayers, as Jo and your dad were. Thank you for taking such good care of them. God bless you all as you mourn Jo and at the same time celebrate her life. Praise the Lord.
