Kenneth C. Hamister
Naples, FL
Kenneth C. Hamister, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2013 at the age of 88. A native of Lakewood, OH and a 1943 graduate of Lakewood High School, Ken entered the U.S. Navy's V-12 program during which he studied at Ohio Wesleyan University, and then proudly served as an officer in the Navy until his discharge in 1946.

Specializing in real estate law, he and his late partner, James Christie, founded Lorain County Title Company, an affiliate of Lawyers Title, in Elyria, OH, where Ken was a wellrespected attorney for more than 50 years. One of the proudest accomplishments of his professional life was his pivotal role in the conception and development of Lorain County Community College.
On the personal level, Ken was a devoted husband, a loving father, an avid golfer, and a fervent Wolverine, who was known for his wisdom and generosity, his boundless enthusiasm and optimism, his infectious laugh, and a smile that could light up a room.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Bessie Hamister; his brothers, Richard C., Donald B. (Peg), and David K. (Gina); his son, Bruce; his first wife, Ethel; and his beloved wife, Patricia (in 2010).
Ken is survived by his dear wife, Bunny, who brought him joy and comfort; his children, Kay Richter (Ed) of Higgins Lake, MI, Frank Hamister (Lynn) of Avon Lake, OH, Mark Hamister (Darcel) of Naples, FL, and Anne Glad (Stan) of Minneapolis, MN; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Debby Ehasz (Bob) of Bay Village, OH and Sandra Phelps of Naples, FL; and two stepgrandchildren.
