Leslie M. (Les) Brown

Leslie Martin (Les) Brown, 83, died on November 7, 2010 at the Bentley Village Care Center, Naples, FL due to complications from Parkinson's Disease.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Barbara; daughter, Daryl L. Brown, (George Stiffler) of Worthington, OH; son, Douglas, (Linda) of Lone Tree, CO; three grandchildren, Christopher, Alexi and Mia Brown; and sister-in-law, Doris Brown of Atlanta, GA.
Born in New York City, November 28, 1926, Les was the second son of Raymond and Helen Brown and was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond F. Brown, Jr.
An active tennis player, international traveler and avid duplicate bridge player, Les enjoyed music, art and entertaining.
During World War II, Les served in naval aviation ordinance, earned his BS in Commerce and Finance at Bucknell University and led production at Paper Novelty Mfg Co., Stamford, CT, a manufacturer of Christmas decorations.
As his final act of generosity, Les donated his body to science in order to help others.
The family expresses their gratitude to the caring staffs of Avow Hospice and the Bentley Village Care Center.
There will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 341053847 or to the Parkinson's Association of SW FL, Inc. 29050 Tamiami Trail North #20, Naples, FL 34103.
