Lucille (Lucy) Doxsee Thompson

Lucille (Lucy) Doxsee Thompson, 83, passed on to her Heavenly mansion on July 27, 2021, just 5 days before her 84th birthday. Lucy was born to Capt. Ralph and Luella Doxsee in Ft. Myers, FL on August 1, 1937. Her young years were spent fishing with her brothers, Doyle and Dwight Doxsee, off the docks and banks of Marco. In 1958 she married her beloved Jackie (Capt. Jack) Thompson. She's the loving mother of 3, Keith Thompson, Kevin Thompson and Alesia Thompson Stirp. Lucy was a compassionate grandmother, she loved her family well and was dearly loved. Lucy became a follower of Christ in the early 60's. She was an active member of The Church of God (Marco Island) in her early years. She was a member and served at New Hope Ministries (Naples) in her golden years. She was a woman who had God's word written on her heart. Lucy was an avid fisher, hunter, seamstress and cook and was extremely talented at each. Her talent for baking fresh pies was praised by all who tried them and she consistently made happy tummies of all who visited her kitchen. She also loved to shop for clothes with her daughter as well as fish with her husband and family. She will be greatly missed! Lucy is survived by her beloved husband Capt. Jack Thompson, their children: Capt. Keith Thompson (Kimberly), Kevin Thompson, Alesia Thompson Stirp (Jeff). Grandchildren: Emily Thompson (Jason Callazo), Nicholas Thompson, Keith R. Thompson, Hunter Stirp, Alexia Stirp, Elizabeth Davis (Lucas), Rachel Thompson. Great-grandchildren: Leila Thompson, Jessie Thompson, Brantley Davis. Sisters: Linda Arthur, Nancy Naftal (Capt. Ted).

A celebration of life will be held on August 7th, 2021 at New Hope Ministries (7675 Davis Blvd., Naples, FI). The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., doors will open at 10:30 a.m. Wear black if you must, but Lucy loved color and you are allowed to wear it.
