Mary Webber
Bonita Springs, FL
Mary Webber (née Pfundstein) of Bonita Springs passed on to the Lord on August 28, 2013 after a long battle with breast cancer.
For many years she was a resident of Stamford, CT, moving fulltime to Bonita in 2005. Born in Chicago in 1944, her family relocated to Lake Worth, FL in 1949. A brilliant student and leader, she was valedictorian and student body president of Rosarian Academy in West Palm Beach. She attended Trinity College in Washington, D.C. for two years before completing her bachelor's degree with honors at Old Dominion College in Norfolk, Va. in 1966. For seven years thereafter she ascended the management ladder at AT&T Long Lines in New York. Her legendary organizational skills and boundless good humor were subsequently put to imaginative use in mothering a single child and, 22 months later, triplets.
Needing more of a challenge, she not only started her own bookkeeping business, but volunteered numerous hours to a variety of boards and organizations, including hospitals in Stamford, CT and Naples, FL (NCH). She was a faithful parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita, as well as a member of Newcomers Club, Encore and two needlepoint groups, all of which gave her immense joy.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Webber, M.D., four children, John (Tricia), Katherine, Matthew (Briana), and Diana Giorlando (Charlie); and seven grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Luke, Anika, Hayden, Sabina, and Lilla.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home 28300 Tamiami Tr. So., Bonita Springs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
