Oscar "Jack" Jacob Gomez
Naples, FL
Lake Toxaway, NC– Oscar "Jack" Gomez, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at the age of 86. He was born June 11, 1924, in New Orleans, LA. Jack was a long time resident of Memphis, TN and Naples, FL.
Jack was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and served as a tail gunner in World War II. Jack had an amazing entrepreneurial spirit and was a legend in the automotive parts industry.
Mr. Gomez is survived by his wife Patsy "Patty" Wright Gomez; sons, Richard Gomez (Pat) and Bruce Gomez of Naples, FL; daughter-in-law, Simone Lutgert of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Bridgit Dowling (Steve) and Monica Gomez (James Kehr) of Park City, UT, Alex Gomez and Rodney Weiss of San Francisco, CA, Stacey Gomez and Brian Gomez of Atlanta, GA, Lana Gomez of Los Angeles, CA, Heather Weiss Dockweiler (Jamie) of Naples, FL, and four great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Sarita Marcuse Gomez and son Barry Jack Gomez.
Private funeral arrangements are pending.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you please send a donation to the charity of your choice in his honor.
