R. Bruce Pegrum, 78, of Northville, MI and Estero, FL (Pelican Sound), passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 in Ft. Meyers, FL
He was born August 23, 1934 in Buffalo, NY and graduated in Geology from the University of Buffalo, where his father Reginald was head of the Geology Department. He moved to Michigan in the late 1960s and was involved his whole career in the cement industry and Michigan road builders, retiring as Vice President of Holnam Corporation.
Bruce was a life long sailor, avid golfer and volleyball player. He was golfing the week previous to being admitted to the hospital where they discovered a hematoma of the brain from which he did not recover.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edith Lapham Pegrum; daughters, Susan Pegrum Crossley of Newport Beach, CA, Karen Pegrum Hoydic of Lawrenceville, GA; son, Robert Charles Pegrum of Brighton, MI; grandchildren, Diana, Catie, and Erin Hoydic, Trey Crossley, Emmett, and Robert Bruce Pegrum II.
He will be missed and was loved by all his friends and family.
Services will be held June 28th at First Presbyterian Church of Northville, MI, followed by a luncheon at Meadowbook Country Club.

I am sorry to hear about the death of Bruce Pegrum, he was a very fine representative of this area, and the Cement supply company he worked for. I used to see him at the Bid Letting in Lansing. the last time I saw Bruce was at the used goods mall in Bonita Springs, they due a huge business on Bonita Beach road, near I-75
