Erma Jane Holton

1949 - 2025

Erma Jane Holton, 76, of Callahan, Florida, passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, from a longtime sickness and was recently diagnosed with cancer then surgery. She passed away peacefully in the care of hospice with loved ones by her side.
She was born in Jacksonville Jan. 20, 1949. She attended Florida Beauty School on Pearl Street at a young age and was the Bismark Road beautician for years, and she would not go anywhere without her own hair being perfect as well. She also ran a fish market and game room in Callahan for several years. She was known for her great-tasting deer stew, deer burgers, and hoe cakes. She loved many things, including listening to good ol' gospel music, and she certainly loved looking for antiques anytime and anywhere she went, even on her furthest trip from Callahan, all the way to New York. In later years, she loved to watch her Jaguars football team. She was also known for having a great big, soft heart for people in need. She would often help family or friends in their time of need over herself. The Lord called her name and ended her pain. She is in the comfort and peace of her Lord and Savior and will be remembered now by all the good that she had done.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jack Holton, Jr., grandson, John Kilgore Jr., four brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Holton and Sherrie Hall (Eddie); Bobby Howell (regarded as a son); granddaughters, Brooke Geiger (Cliff) and Kinley Hall; great-granddaughter, Bexlee Geiger; two brothers and three sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and others family members.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home, Callahan Chapel. Visitation was held one hour prior to services. Interment followed in River Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
