Kenneth M Crisler, 86, of Navarre, FL passed away on Thursday May 29, 2025, at Pruitt Health and Nursing Home in Milton, FL.Ken "Butch" Crisler born in Holbrook, L.I., NY, Nov 15,1938, the 3rd child of Kenneth L Crisler and Ruth Kunkel Crisler. Ken grew up in Baldwin NY, spending summers camping near the rocky beaches of Wildwood, L.I.He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1956 and, soon after, was sworn into the US Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. He served in communications for 4 years in the Pacific aboard the USS Hancock and the USS Midway.In the late 60' Ken and his family moved to Savanah GA where he worked for Grumman Aircraft. His vivid memory of that time was the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. Moving to Davie, Florida in 1970, Ken received his contractor's licenses and was a home improvement business owner. Ken then worked for Broward County Facilities Management as Carpentry Supervisor. Retiring in 2003.Ken and his blended family loved camping and fishing on the central Florida lakes. He was an avid bowler. He loved working with wood. He spent time doing many wood projects. Small and large. He constructed a wooden bar on one of the cruise ships out of Port Everglades. On April 24, 1999, Kenneth Crisler married Denise Martenson. He was 60, she was 55. Ken was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. He went on mission to Guatemala Agua Viva Orphanage. He loved kids and dogs, and they loved him back. He volunteered for VBS, Soup Kitchen, Thrift Store and homeless outreach.After retiring he was blessed to spend time on Via De Cristo weekends and Kairos Ministry at Everglades Correctional Institution.He loved to travel, seeing new places, visiting family and friends. He was happiest cruising on the oceans.Moving to Navarre in 2014 for family, he found wonderful new neighbors, a welcoming church and a beautiful beach to satisfy his love of the open skies and forever seas. He loved ice cream, watching Westerns and listening to Country music. Ken was a hands-on guy. He was kind, good, faithful and patient. He was a real gentleman! Fair Winds and Following seas, Ken.The family wants to thank the staff of Pruitt Health for the love and care given to Ken during his battle with Alzheimer's. Memorial donations may be made in Ken's name to Alzheimer's Association. alz.org.Ken was preceded in death by his parents and by Thelma Squires Crisler and son Matthew Crisler. Bettye Amato Crisler and daughter Patricia Easley. His sisters Joyce (George) Gruner and Lois (Christian) Bortzner.Ken is survived by his wife of 26 years, Denise Martenson Crisler; sons, Martin Donald Crisler, Darren (Kristen) Martenson, Erik (Wendy) Martenson; daughter, Cindy Mayes. Blessed with 8 grandchildren, and many great grands, nieces and nephews.The family wants to thank the staff of Pruitt Health for the love and care given to Ken during his battle with Alzheimer's. Memorial donations may be made in Ken's name to Alzheimer's Association. alz.org.

Memorial Services for Ken Crisler will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Navarre United Methodist Church with Rev. David Morris officiating. Kenneth Martin Crisler
