Dennis Lombard Obituary
Dennis F. Lombard, Jr. passed peacefully surrounded by family on November 15 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
During Dennis's youth he was very involved in the Boy Scouts, earning his Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow and assisting in leading an Explorer Post at the New Canaan Police Department. Dennis was a law enforcement officer for New Canaan, Connecticut for 27 years followed by Chief of Police at Seven Lakes, North Carolina.
Dennis had a love of history, travel with his family and was an avid reader. Dennis will be remembered for his charismatic nature, friendly demeanor, and willingness to help others.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father and mother Dennis F. and Jane M. Lombard, brother James M. Lombard, and in-laws George H. and Helen O'C. Simpson. He is survived by his wife Dunfrey (Dee) S. Lombard, daughter, Maegan D. Lombard, son Derek H. Coombs, his wife Lindsey and sons William and Owen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Health Neuro Care Fund, 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374 in honor of Dennis, and the medical staff for their wonderful, skillful and compassionate care.

Dennis always stopped by at the PH farmers markets for many summers. Over the years, he always purchased little pieces of pottery to send to family members and "bee themed" items for Dee. He had such a generous spirit, His friendly presence will be remembered and missed by many.

Dennis and I worked together and were friends for the entire time Dennis moved to New Canaan and joined the New Canaan Police Dept. Dennis was always a happy go lucky guy and good friend to me and to everyone who knew him. He was a good Cop. I missed Dinnis when we both moved out of New Canaan. I had heard later he and Dee had moved to South Carolina but never found out where. See we to moved to S.C. also.
We will be praying for Dee, Maegan, Deark, and his family, for God to give them peace and comfort during the time of the loss of A great guy Dennis.

Officer Lombard reported to the scene of an accident when I was hit by a car walking home from school in New Canaan, over 40 years ago. I recognized him right away. God bless his soul.
