Edward J O'Rourke Jr

Edward J O'Rourke, Jr, of Wolfeboro, NH, died June 23, 2015 at the age of 89

He was born in Brooklyn, NY on Aug 8, 1925, to Edward J and Charlotte Crosby O'Rourke He graduated from Mamaroneck High School and attended Dartmouth College in the class of 1947 He served as an ensign in the United States Navy in World War II and as a lieutenant during the Korean War

Mr O'Rourke began his investment banking career with Goldman Sachs in New York City and, subsequently, was a senior vice president and director of the Wall Street firm Blyth & Co He served on the Board of Governors of the American Stock Exchange He and his wife raised their family in New Canaan

His is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Mary Lou Devlin O'Rourke of Wolfeboro, and by their sons Edward J O'Rourke III and his wife Anne of Brunswick, Maine; Paul Devlin O'Rourke and his wife Molly of Brooklin, Maine; and daughter Susan O'Rourke Caesar and her husband Porter of Wolfeboro He also leaves five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren

A private memorial service will be held at a later date In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice Arrangements handled by Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, NH: 603-569-5511
