Frederick Van Dyke Siefke

Frederick Van Dyke Siefke, 97, of Ithaca, NY, and South Salem, NY, and lately of New Canaan, CT, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 5. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Herman and Marjorie Siefke.
He attended the Kent School before moving on to Cornell University, where he studied chemical engineering. His time in Ithaca was interrupted by a stint with the 380th Engineering Battalion, but he returned from the Army to complete his degree in 1948. He spent his entire career with Exxon.
His dear wife, Jean Louise Carroll, predeceased him. He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Siefke, of Silver Spring, MD; his daughter, Madeline, and son-in-law, Matthew Estill, of Ithaca, NY; his grandchildren, Caroline, Charlie, and Peter Estill; and his many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Pound Ridge Community Church, 3 Pound Ridge Rd, Pound Ridge, NY 10576.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornell Botanic Gardens (124 Comstock Knoll Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850). Bangs Funeral Home, Ithaca, NY is assisting the family.
