Ian Prior, 59, of New Canaan passed away at his home on Feb 21, 2016 surrounded by his loving family Ian was born on Jan 27, 1957 in Ashton in Makerfield, England to the late Alan Prior and Mavis Alker

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janet, and four daughters Madeleine, Alexandra, Harriet and Philippa, all of New Canaan In addition, he is survived by his mother, Mavis Alker, and her husband John, brother Andrew Prior, sisters Helen Smith and Sandra Johnstone, and numerous nieces and nephews

Ian started his 37-year career at Barclays Capital, where he held a variety of senior positions in the UK, Asia and the US that included managing director and global head of Capital Management and Planning, chief credit officer for the Americas, and chief credit officer for Asia Pacific In 2013 he retired from Barclays and began working for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as vice-president and head of Wholesale Credit He loved traveling, specifically ski trips, music and spending time with his family

A funeral service to celebrate Ian's life will be held at The United Methodist church of New Canaan, on Feb 26 at 10 am Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan In lieu of flowers, donations in Ian's memory can be made to the Lustgarten Foundation (wwwlustgartenorg)
