July 3, 1963 ~ December 22, 2020 (age 57)John Michael Gaffney, 57, of Barrington, RI passed away in PEACE on December 22 with his adoring wife of 25 years, Julie by his side. He spent the day surrounded by the love and loving touch of his amazing children, Jennifer (Michael) of Clayton, NC, Maeve, Clare and Quinn. John was beloved "Pop" to Jennifer's beautiful girls, Madison and Parker; caring and faithful son to John T. Gaffney (Edna, died 2018) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and a loving brother to Joanne Hofmann (Don) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Jean Kaval (Albert, died 2013) of Liverpool, NY, and Jim Gaffney (Jennifer) of Mount Pleasant, SC. Raised in New Canaan, CT John attended Babson College where he honed his already sharp mind and proudly played on the Rugby team. He enjoyed a successful career throughout his life but recently found great personal fulfillment and professional satisfaction as the CFO of Matouk. He had a true appreciation for life and everyone in it. John loved the water, sidelines, sports of all kinds, his Irish heritage, Thanksgivings, vests and a good heartfelt toast. He touched so many with his quiet strength and attentive way that always made you feel he truly cared and listened. He will be sorely missed by countless family and friends near and far. Do you love and are you loved? John did both. Due to COVID-19, a Memorial Service will be planned for the Spring at a date to be determined.
