Lawrence F Mann, 70, of Pine Grove, Pa died Monday June 6, 2016 at Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center with his wife, Susan A Barr, by his side as they celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary

Larry was born in Brooklyn, NY Nov 7, 1945 He moved to Stamford with his family in 1950 and attended St Mary's and graduated from Stamford High School in 1963 He served in Vietnam as a Navy corpsman from 1965 to 1969 In 1972, he received an associate degree in science from York College and graduated from St Joseph Hospital School of Respiratory Therapy in Lancaster, Pa Larry was a respiratory therapist in the clinical arena for over forty years and was known for his compassion and patient care Over the years, he held various positions including director of respiratory care at both Ephrata Hospital and Lehigh Valley Hospital where he was honored in 2004 by Advance Magazine for Respiratory Care as the Best Manager in their National Respiratory Achievement Awards competition

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Theresa Ortwein (Cleona, Pa), Jennifer Soliday (Annville, Pa) and David Mann (Grand Haven, Mich); nine grandchildren; his mother Jane Mann Smart (Naples, Fla); and his siblings Linda Casey (Naples, Fla), Brian Mann (Woodburn, Ore), Harold Mann (Wilsonville, Ore) Michael Mann (Naples, Fla) and Sarah Burke (New Canaan) He was predeceased by his father Edward H Mann
