Nicholas J Campbell

Nicholas J Campbell, 84, passed peacefully on Christmas day after a brief illness

A longtime resident of both New Canaan, CT and Jupiter, Fla, he had recently moved to Memphis, TN to be closer to family

Born in Brooklyn, NY (1933) he was the son of John C and Hellen E Campbell

Brooklyn bred and educated, he attended Manhattan College (graduating in 1954 with a BS in Accounting) followed by studying law at Fordham University (Class of 1957) Upon the completion of his studies, Nick spent the majority of his career in public accounting; ultimately becoming a partner with Arthur Anderson & Co in 1972 While at Arthur Anderson he was elevated to the Partner-in-Charge of the Stamford Office and was responsible for the office's dramatic growth during the 1980s

In addition to his professional career, he was engaged in various civic organizations throughout the years, most notably being President of the Board for the Ardsley school district (Ardsley, NY) and The Hole in the Wall Gang Upon retirement, he turned his focus to golf, travel, running, and family Nick completed 4 marathons including New York, London and Dublin

He was affectionately known as "Peapa" to his 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild

He is survived by his loving wife Margaret, his four children: Nicholas Jr, Thomas, Stasia, and Andrew, and as noted, his grandchildren and a great-grandson

A funeral was held in early January at St Louis Catholic Church in Memphis, Tennessee followed by a burial in New Canaan, Connecticut
