Having a good father who gives you; a love of the outdoors, boating, fishing, respect for nature and has good sense of humor until he's 96 is something we all should be happy with. The father/son bond is a strong one, never waning through adverse times or a pig-headed son with different opinions. I probably didn’t appreciate it at the time but recall more than once being at an away hockey game at some semi enclosed or outdoor rink in northern New England. It would be snowing sideways out with blizzard like conditions and sure enough I’d see my dad who just drove for 3 hours bundled up, leaning on the boards & cheering the team on as I skated around in warm ups. He’d take a few of us out for a good steak dinner before driving home at night. That's just a small portion of the support he gave me throughout my life. Good men are well respected by their peers. Good fathers are also well respected by their sons and their son’s peers. I know my good friends loved my dad as I did. We will miss you Pops.
One of his most common quotes: “You need to get a dog”
