ALBERT SLOCUM Obituary
Albert Greene 'Charlie' Slocum Jr., 79, of Chesapeake, Va., passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
Born in Pennsylvania, he is the son of the late Albert G. Slocum Sr. and Frances Jean Slocum.
Charlie retired from the U.S. Navy, after 28 years of honorable service as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.
He later retired as a Sergeant with the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office. For the last 20 years, he was an instructor at Academi, formerly Blackwater USA. He was twice a Past Master of the North Esk Mariners Lodge No. 1676, Scotland.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Barbara Jean Slocum; children: Jean Santiago (Nelson), Albert 'Scott' Slocum, III, Matthew Slocum (Megs), Mark Slocum (Virginia); grandchildren: Autumn, Alex, Greg, Savannah, Shayna, Blake, Bella, Jaxon, Benjamin, Charlotte; siblings: Edmund Slocum and Debra Montross; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services were held at Great Bridge Baptist Church, Chesapeake, Va., with interment in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga Street, Tunkhannock.
