Linda Joy Purinton, 75, of Falls, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at home and in the company of her loving family.
Linda was born on May 15, 1946, in Scranton. She is the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Ruby Thomas Cobb.
Along with taking care of her family, she worked in dress factories for many years. Later in life she held various positions at American Asphalt.
Linda was, first and foremost, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother who loved, worshiped and served her Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed God's creation. She found great pleasure in outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and flower gardening. She was a skilled seamstress and cake decorator. She was an active member of Eaton Baptist Church. Over the years she served actively in Sunday School, Nursery, Junior Church, children's ministries, and was actively involved in church meals. She loved her dogs over the years, most recently Sadie.
Surviving Linda are her husband of 58 years, Linley John Purinton, Sr. of Falls; children and spouses: Linley, Jr. and Lisa Purinton of Larksville, Kimberly and Scott Teeters of Falls, Yvonne and Duane Norton, Jr. of Lemon and Yvette and Kevin Hutchins of Tunkhannock; grandsons and spouses: Brandon and Rachel Purinton, Joshua and Ashley Purinton, Benjamin Purinton, Jacob Purinton, Jordon Purinton, Eric and Sarah Teeters, Douglas Teeters, David Teeters, Robert and Antionette Tupper, William Tupper, Michael and Lindsay Hutchins, Keith Hutchins, and Gavin Hutchins; great-grandchildren: Carter Tupper, Anakin Tupper, RubyRose Tupper and Lucy Hutchins; her siblings: Robert and Dora Cobb, Lester Cobb, and Mary Pavia; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Melvin Cobb and Renny Cobb.
Family and friends are invited to attend Linda's funeral service which will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 21, from the Eaton Baptist Church, 820 Hunter Highway, Tunkhannock, with Pastor Mark King of Laceyville officiating. Interment will be held in Robert's Cemetery, Falls. A visitation for friends and family will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church.
Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga Street, Tunkhannock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Linda's name to Eaton Baptist Church, 820 Hunter Highway, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
