Lucy N. Shalata, 88, of Noxen, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, at the Gardens at Tunkhannock.
She was born in Hazlehurst, Ga., on July 2, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Carlene Lambert.
Lucy graduated from Jeff Davis High School in Georgia, class of 1954. She retired from Bocar Manufacturing in Tunkhannock. Lucy was an active member of the Noxen Bible Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years. She enjoyed sewing and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, William Lambert.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 68 years, William 'Bill' Shalata Sr.; children: Terri Greenley and her husband Charles, and William 'Bill' Shalata Jr. and his wife Pamela; grandchildren: Scott, Andrea, Heather and Mikki; great-grandchildren: Chase, Josiah, Makenna, Caleb, Joshua, Ashlynn and Caidance; nd numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. from the Noxen Bible Baptist Church, 3622 Pa. Route 29, Noxen, with Pastor Ben Hubbell, officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
