Robert Henry Vohrer Jr., 79, of Meshoppen, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, after a brief illness.
Robert was born in Queens, New York City, on June 6, 1941, a son of the late Robert H. and Elizabeth Berner Vohrer He graduated from high school in New York City and also from the New York City Police Academy in 1953. He was a New York City policeman and after retiring, moved to Pennsylvania and worked in security for the Bendix Flight Systems, in South Montrose.
Robert married the former Connie Silverstrim on May 4, 1994, and they celebrated 27 years of marriage.
After retiring he and Connie enjoyed traveling and viewing the local landscapes and newly constructed housing.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kristen Vohrer.
Surviving are wife, Connie Vohrer, Meshoppen; sons: Robert H. (Kim) Vohrer, Jacksonville, Fla., Eric Jay (Cindy) Vohrer, Elmira, N.Y.; step-daughters: Dawn (Kenny) Holley, Wilkes-Barre, Stacy (Zack) Coffey, Longmont, Colo.; grandsons: Joshua and Matthew Vohrer; great-grandchildren: Jackson and Owen; step-grandchildren: Alexis Lisa-Lewis, Riley Coffey, Paige Coffey; brothers: Jerry (Luz) Vohrer, Spring Hill, Fla., John Vohrer and companion Mary Hudson, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Abiding with Robert's wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore.
