She is survived by her mother Bonnie Singer Atkinson; father Mark Atkinson; brother Eric Atkinson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Tamara was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Tam was and always will be my best friend, we were friends for close to 15yrs. I think about her everyday, a song, a moment I know she would like, certain times of the year. It is a pain that I will carry with me always, but the pain is a reminder that she will always be in my heart. We used to say that when we were old we would live out the rest of our old days together. She was taken way too soon, and I feel robbed. I'm just grateful that I had her in my life, no matter how long it was. She was a beautiful human being and we both knew the good the bad and the ugly about one another, a connection that your lucky to find at least once in a lifetime. I will love you forever and the girls will always know about they're Aunt Tam, because I will always tell them about you, keep your memory and the love alive. I still cant believe that youre gone. We became so close and then we drifted apart after I moved away and then I come home to find this out. It breaks my heart. I love you and the only way Im able to be at peace with you being gone is that you no longer have to suffer with this ugly disease RIP BEAUTIFUL GIRL

My family was saddened to hear of Tamara's passing. I had the pleasure of teaching Tamara in 8th grade. She was a great kid. Outgoing, witty, and smart. Also had the opportunity to watch Eric develop into a fine basketball player and a terrific young man. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with this terrible tragedy.
