Alyce Copas Obituary
HEATH: A graveside service for Alyce R. Copas, 90, a resident of Chapel Grove Inn of Heath, formerly of Elyria and Granville will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville with Rev. Stephen H. Applegate officiating.
Alyce died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. She was born September 28, 1920 in Granville to the late Dora Viola Hankinson and Samuel Jones Sipe.
A 1938 graduate of Granville High School, Alyce retired from Oster Manufacturing in Cleveland where she worked in export billing. During her 50 years of residency in Elyria, she was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, a 25 year volunteer at Elyria Memorial Hospital, and an avid bowler.
Surviving are her sisters, Ruth Sipe and Helen J. Marriott, both of Newark; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents; Alyce was preceded in death by her Husband, Harold H. Copas; brother, W. David Sipe; sisters, Adaline J. Foster, Thelma Jones, Anna Mae Jones, G. Alberta Ickes, and M. Phyllis Brookbank.
Arrangements are in the care of McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home in Granville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
