Christian Schmoll Obituary
Mr. Schmoll died May 8, 2009 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born May 31, 1947 in North Platte, Nebraska to the late Henry P. and Flora Rose (Wolcott) Schmoll.
Chris and his cousin, Marie were raised by their grandmother, Maria Schmoll in Van Atta. He was a graduate of Utica High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Chris attended the Second Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion. He worked as a cook at the Pioneer in Utica, the former Best Western in downtown Newark, the 70/37 truck stop and the former Buxton Tavern in Newark.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 14 years, Tina (Pettibone) Schmoll; cousins, Frances (David) Eagles of Australia, Marie (Larry) McClain of Newark, Susie (Paul) Murphy of Key West, Florida, Chris (Sue) Bell of Columbus and John (Judy) Schmoll of Johnstown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Betty) Pettibone of Arizona, Tammy (Thom) Luckett of Newark, Tim (Wanda) Pettibone of Newark and Elizabeth (James) Storey of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009, at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth St., Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Second Baptist Church, 19 West National Dr., Newark.
