Granville - Jane Simpson, 93, of Granville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Middleton Senior Living on May 30, 2021. Jane was born on April 9, 1928 in Silver Beach, NY to the late Melvin and Mary Deutsch.
Jane attended Heidelberg University in Tiffin where she met the love of her life, Clayt. Together they had two daughters, Kathy and Chris. Through Clayt's career with Shell Oil they lived in several different areas establishing many lifelong friendships. Jane was always active in every place they lived whether it was delivering Meals on Wheels or helping others in time of need. After Clayt passed away in 1999, Jane lived a wonderful, independent life in Charleston, SC where she could be near the beach and also work for Chico's selling women's clothes in the Charleston Place Hotel downtown. Since clothes were always her passion, it was the perfect fit. Even at 93, Jane never went without her lipstick and earrings. In later years, she moved to Granville to be closer to her family. In 2016, she was one of the first residents of Middleton Senior Living where she continuously received the utmost loving care.
Jane is survived by her daughter Christine (Don) Snider, sister Carol Thewes, son in law Bob Dickinson, grandchildren Nick (Katie) Snider, Haley Snider, Jennifer (Joe) Jacobs, Dr Emily (Ray) Briggs, Samantha (Jefferson) Bryan and Zachary (Jessica Montemayor) Dickinson. Great grandchildren Carson and Gracie Snider, Greyson Weaver, Jane and Elizabeth Briggs, Ethan Jacobs and Greyson Dickinson. She is also survived by her niece, Dr. Kate (Sudhir) Dubey, Nephews Bill (Dona) Thewes, Rich (Julia Bryan) Thewes and Peter (Katie) Thewes.
She is preceded in death by daughter Kathy (Bob) Dickinson, sister Dorothy Keough, brother-in-law Ray Keough and nephew Kevin Keough.
