Marilyn L. White

HEATH: A funeral service for Marilyn L. White will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Brucker&Kishler Funeral Home in Newark, with Pastor Kristin Santiago officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville. Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, on Wednesday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street.

Mrs. White, age 74, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 2, 1939, in Newark, a daughter of the late Vincent V. and Ruth L. (Russell) Link.

A 1957 graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School, she spent her childhood in the Hanover area and had lived in Heath since 1961.

Marilyn met her husband, Don, at a square dance, which was just the beginning of their life of love for each other. Over the years, they made many good friends through her love of music especially Bluegrass and traveling around the region. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed decorating her home and spending time with family and friends. She had worked for 27 years at Amy's Hallmark and enjoyed collecting Hallmark ornaments and accessories. She and her husband were charter members of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Heath.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald W. White, whom she married April 26, 1958; her children, Kim (John) Geller of Heath, Craig (Rhonda) White of Heath, Wendy (Dave) Burig of Loveland; her beloved grandchildren, Grant (Sandy) Geller, Kayla Geller, Megan White, Kaitlyn White, Austin White all of Heath, Evan Burig and Ryan Burig, both of Loveland; her great-grandchildren, Calli and Chloie Geller of Heath; her twin sister, Carolyn (Jerry) Eshelman of Heath, sisters, Vicki Prouty of Hebron, Sherry (Jerry) Erhard of Zanesville, brother, Vincent (Bonnie) Link of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; a sister in law Charlotte Price of Newark and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Morgan White; a brother James Link and a niece Debbie Prouty.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio or the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, Central Ohio Chapter; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers from Hospice of Central Ohio and Pastor Kristin Santiago.

The Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home is honored to serve the White family, on-line condolences to the family may be sent via www.brucker-kishlerfuneralhome.com

Wendy and family, I'm saddened to hear of your mom's passing. What wonderful memories we made growing up at each others houses. I will miss your mom. I remember the day your parents and I took you to college after graduation and your mom talked non-stop on the ride home. I fell asleep in the backseat and she kept talking! She never paused to take a breath for 90 minutes! When I woke up, we all had a good laugh at her stamina :) So hilarious. You all are in my heart and prayers. Love, Tara

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Marilyn.
We had the privilege of meeting her, Don, Carolyn and Jerry through bluegrass music.
Pete will never forget sitting in front of her at the Chillicothe, Ohio bluegrass festival and I kept moving around in front of her on a picnic table so she couldn't see! She reached up and slapped me on the side of the shoulder for aggravating her! She didn't realize it was me!
We have missed seeing these dear friends and our hearts are heavy right now for all of you.
