Phyllis Lewis Obituary
NEWARK: Born in Maysville Kentucky on December 7, 1947, passed away September 15, 2015 in Newark Ohio. Phyllis donated her body to The Ohio University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens.
She was retired from Licking County Family and Job Services.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Chester Cunningham and Elsie Holtschulte; son, Duane Frederick Lewis; sister, Joyce Anne Cunningham; brother, Glenn Cunningham; and nephew, Jason Cunningham.
Survived by grandchildren, Brandin O'Flaherty and Taylore Lewis; sister-in-law, Donna Cunningham; nephew, Jared Cunningham; and great-nephew, Aaron Cunningham.
No services are planned. A Memorial will be held at the Newark VFW Post 1060 on Forry St. on October 17th from 1-3pm for those who knew and loved her.
Memorial Donations may be sent to the Licking County Humane Society at 825 Thornwood Dr SW, Heath, OH 43056.

Words escape me in reading this official notification of my aunt's passing... but my heart is warmed as I continue to hear from so many people whose lives were touched by hers. I thank everyone who was there for her on behalf of the Cunningham family and hope to meet you at the Memorial on the 17th. Colleen: Just seeing your name makes me smile... Thank you for Brandin! I have been blessed so much in reuniting as adults with him and Elly. They were just here last night. The legacy lives on. Rest in final Peace Aunt Sis... you deserve it and have left a permanent mark on this planet! I love you!

Such a sweet and kind person. Our family enjoyed transporting Phyllis over the years and enjoying a donut and coffee with her before dropping at her destination. She will be missed.
