Ruth Ann Core

NEWARK: A funeral service, to celebrate the life of Ruth Ann Core, 67, of Newark, will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Ruth Ann was born in Newark on December 20, 1944 to the late Ralph and Ruth Louise (Wright) Jolliff. She passed away in Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro Township, New Jersey on August 9, 2012.

Ruth Ann graduated from Granville High School, Class of 1964. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a carrier in Frazeysburg, retiring from Granville Post Office with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed flowers, vegetable gardening, cooking, sewing and traveling, especially with her daughter, Carrie. Most important in her life was spending time with her family.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

Survivors include her daughter, Carrie (Kevin) Edwards of McGuire Air Force Base, NJ; grandchildren, Zachary Lane Edwards, Alyssa Danielle Edwards; her twin brother, Ralph Allen "Butch" (Jeanie) Jolliff of Illinois, and brothers Harold James (Linda) Jolliff and Jeffery Robert Jolliff all of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by older brothers, Charles Jolliff and Robbin Frederick Jolliff.
