Viola Manogue Obituary

The family of Viola Werneke Manogue announces her passing on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 98.

Vi will be lovingly remembered by her children, Barbara, George (Colleen), and Susan; her 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Vi was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, William H. Manogue; her sons, William and James; and her parents, George T. Werneke and Lucretia Dalton Werneke.

Vi graduated from BelAir High School, worked for the Aegis (newspaper), attended the University of Delaware, where she later worked in the Art Conservation Department, as well as the Treasurer's Office.

A memorial service will be held at St John the Baptist Catholic Church at 200 East Main Street, Newark, Delaware on Saturday, June 14 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.

Barbie, George & Susan -
So many wonderful memories of times spent with your Mother. I was in Delaware earlier this month and went to Millcroft to find out if Vi might still be alive. The last time I spoke with her I knew memory was a concern. A person there told me that she had recently passed away. Sending my sincere sympathy to all of you.
