George Griggs Obituary
Mr. Griggs proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Con-flict as Master Gunnery Sergeant. He retired as calibration technician at Cherry Point and was a member of Lanie's Chapel Church in Trenton.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pollock-Best Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Phenix officiating. Burial will be at the Wilson Cemetery near his home.
He is survived by three sons, George William Griggs and wife, Lydia, of Durham, James Daniel Griggs and wife, Mary, of Michigan and Joe Douglas Griggs and wife, Debbie, of Pollocksville; one daughter, Alice Jane Johnson and husband, David, of Durham; one sister, Elladine Greer of Burkeville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Leona Wilson Griggs.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pollock-Best Funeral Home.

Flowers are welcome but those who prefer are asked to make memorials in his memory to Lanie's Chapel Church of Trenton.
