She was born in Malden, Mass., and graduated from Salem Teachers College in Salem, Mass. She was a concert mistress violinist for the Hingham Civic Orchestra for more than 20 years. She also played professionally for the Sarasota Symphony Orchestra, Sarasota, Fla.
She is survived by two sons, Russell Peterson of Oriental and Alan Peterson of Sunapee, N.H., and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McCarthy Court.
