Mack, I have fond memories of you from high school. However, we were more than classmates, we were friends. I remember your calm, easy-going spirit, and your smile. After high school, I recall that during a visit home that I ran into you and after we hugged away the gap of time of years that had stood since we last saw each, you turned to your wife and, "This is Gloria, a good friend from high school. And good friends we were. :-) Gladys shared that she last saw you a couple of weeks ago and Claranet shared as well that she saw you and that you were excitedly awaiting the birth of your first grandchild. :-(
Lord, I pray for Macks wife, children, and the Goss family. At this present time, peace is difficult to comprehend, but I ask you to give them a sense of your peace, cover them with your love, grace, mercy, and the strength to carry on. Lord, please, hold their hearts and on their darkest of days, be their light. On the lowly of their saddest days, be their joy. Please grant the Goss family your divine comfort and healing that can only come through your love. Fill their sorrow in the times and days to come with the wonderful, sweet memories of Mack to languish forever and to keep their hearts lifted when they think of him. In the name of the Father, his Son, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
While I am deeply saddened that the sun has set on your time in this world, I will hold on to the memories of you...my good friend. Rest peacefully eternally.
