LITTLE MOUNTAIN — Elberta Derrick Dominick, 79, died Sunday, October 10, 2021, at her residence on the day she and her husband, J.N., celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Born on September 15, 1942, in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Claude Benjamin "Tot" and Katie Wessinger Derrick. She was a graduate of Chapin High School. During her working career she worked at Ellett Brothers, Mid-Carolina High School, Mepco Electric and retired from Richland School District 1. Mrs. Dominick was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday School.

She loved cooking, especially Sunday dinners for her family. Her great joy came from loving her grandchildren. The holidays were always a special time for her with Christmas being the most special time. Mrs.Dominick loved all animals. She would always meet everyone with a smile.

She is survived by her husband, John N. "J.N." Dominick; sons, Michael (Pat) Dominick and Steve Dominick both of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Derrick (Rachel) Dominick, Kara (Justin) Hawkins, Heather Dominick, Noah Dominick and Kamryn Dominick; step-grandchildren, Jason Fulmer, Ashley (Evan) Ruff and Carli (Art) Rollins; step-great-grandchildren, Coralie Ruff, Augie Rollins and Aria Ruff.

Mrs. Dominick was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Renee Hester Dominick, sisters, Katie Cotney and Retha Eleazer and brothers, Alvin Derrick and S.E. Derrick.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at St. Peter Lutheran Church by the Rev. David Tholstrup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund of St. Peter Lutheran Church, 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, SC 29036.

The family would like to thank MSA Hospice of Newberry and Rev. David Tholstrup for their loving care and kindness.
