NEWBERRY — Minnie Culclasure Nichols, 87, widow of Walter "Waddy" Nichols, died Monday, May 29, 2017 at Martha Franks Retirement Community.
Born on March 5, 1930, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Nell Franklin Culclasure.
Mrs. Nichols had worked for the Newberry County Visitors Center and was a member of the Hartford Community Center. She was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class.
She is survived by a daughter, Susie Nichols of Prosperity; a sister, Julia Nell Gillion of Irmo; and a grandson, Brian Berry.
She was predeceased by a son, Walter "Nick" Nichols Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Epting Memorial United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 429 N. Main Street, Ste. 3, Greenville, SC 29601 or to the Martha Franks Retirement Community, 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, SC 29360.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Berry, Gary Gillion, Brooks Pitts and Dustin Brown.
