Annie Bossi Obituary

BRISTOL

Annie Bossi, 88, of Bristol passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born on December 21, 1935 in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Lambert and Ollie (Johnson) Larsen, Sr. Annie was the loving wife of the late Dino Bossi for 64 years before his passing in 2022. Annie grew up in New London and lived in Bristol during her married life. She graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing as a registered nurse. Annie was an extraordinarily caring and nuturing mother to her five children and consistently encouraged each of her children to explore, learn and ask questions. Annie was particularly fond of working with geriatric patients and worked in several nursing homes for over twenty years. After she retired, she volunteered at the Bristol Senior Center and stayed fit by water-walking mornings with friends at the Dennis Malone Aquatics Center pool. Apart from family and professional pursuits, Annie was a master quilter and superb baker. During her retirement, Annie made beautiful quilts for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When she was not busy making yet another quilt, she was busy baking cookies. Annie was famous for sending boxes of assorted cookies to her children and grandchildren who did not live close. Annie, along with Dino, were avid cheerleaders for their grandchildren's sports events. Annie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her children Steven Bossi (Diego), Dina Lopez (Carlos), Patrick Bossi and Catherine Czarnecki (Rodney); her eight grandchildren Dr. Emily Savoca, Ryan Savoca, Jake Savoca, Ben Czarnecki, Jared Czarnecki, Colten Bossi, Miranda Bossi, Riley Bossi and three great grandchildren Delaney, Quinn and Emerson. Besides her husband and parents, Annie is predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Savoca (Tom), brother Lambert Larsen, Jr. and sister Marion Beckenstein. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Annie Bossi to the Connecticut Nurses Foundation, Inc. advancing the education of future nurses in the state. Please log onto http://www.ctnursesfoundation.org/. There will be a celebration of life service on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Gregory The Great Parish, 235 Maltby St., Bristol with a burial immediately following at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Bristol. I'm so thankful for your mom and my mom's friendship (Gerry Magyar). They had so much in common = RNs, quilters, bakers, great love for their husbands, family and friends; even a daughter named Cathy :) Their friendship means the world to my mom. Annie will be greatly missed and remembered. May the Lord and all of your wonderful memories comfort you.
With much love,
Cathy Serkosky
