Dorothy Dottie Lucy Poulin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Dottie Poulin, who died peacefully on November 15, 2025, at Amberwoods of Farmington, CT, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bristol, Connecticut, of Canadian descent, Dottie was the eldest child of Lucien J. and Germaine (Rodrigue) Poulin. She attended St. Ann School and graduated from Bristol High School. Over the years, she worked for Aetna Life Insurance, the Connecticut Department of Labor, and as a CNA. Dottie was also known for her work as a Spiritual Intuitive Advisor, offering comfort and clarity to countless individuals throughout her lifetime. She volunteered at the Bristol Senior Center and many other community organizations. In her earlier days, Dottie was an active parishioner at St. Ann's Church and her lifelong faith was a source of guidance, strength, and comfort. Music was the thread of Dottie's life. She was an accomplished guitarist and mastered the unique art of yodeling. She performed with the CT Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers Club for many years, with other groups, and as a solo artist. She also wrote and published a hymn Friendship in Christ. Dottie was predeceased by her sons, Ronnie and Gary Martin; her parents; her sister, Shirley (Violette) Salka; and her brother, Rick Poulin. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Thomas Chase of Providence, RI; her brother, Roger Poulin of Dallas, TX; and her sister-in-law, Kathy (Madore) Poulin of Moodus, CT; as well as three nephews: Steven Violette, Harley Poulin, and Jonathan Poulin. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends. The family would like to thank Tom and Jeanne Satagaj, Linda Demma and her therapy dog Gemma, the Hospice team of AccentCare(Farmington), Willow Unit nursing, and all who support the music therapy program she so enjoyed. A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at 10 a.m at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Bristol, followed by lunch and shared memories at Luna's Banquet Hall, 164 Central Street, Bristol. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Connecticut Food Share, 2 Research Parkway, Wallingford, CT 06492, honoring her desire to bring food security to those in need.
