Danny, Danny, Danny . . . can't believe you're gone. What a character you were: handsome, high energy, dynamic, always a lot of fun. A keen observer of the human condition. 20 years of friendship we had. I will always fondly remember all those dinners and the late night drinking sessions at fancy restaurants and bars, the "Rap" parties, meeting your celebrity colleagues . . picking up women after you and Barb divorced. . .the last Academy awards at the Dorothy Chandler pavilion the year Shakespeare In Love won as best picture, the motorcycle rides to Malibu, the Rock Shop . . . all over So Cal. I remember your black jeep, the first house you bought in Studio City, the kids . . . You know today is October 10th your birthday, I remember your birthday 10/10 because you were such a classic Libra, always thinking, analyzing, pondering, weighing the scales before making a decision. I used to tell you youshould drop acting and become a newsman. You hated that idea. "What, and scrounge around like a gadfly sticking a microphone in peoples faces. Nein!" LOL. I miss you Bro and wish you were here for one more great night out. Hey, let's meet up in the next life, K?

Rest easy my friend

I never met you, but I you entertained me when you were cast in the eighth season of FALCON CREST in 1988. As Tommy Ortega, you had amazing chemistry with Susan Sullivan (Maggie Channing) and Kristian Alfonso, who played your sister, Pilar Ortega. Some actors exit the stage way too young. You are one of those actors who shined bright when you were in a scene.

As your family and friends reflect on their memories of you, I hope you continue to grace their lives with the blessings of your memory. We may not always get the happy endings in this life that movies and television provide us. And sadly, this is one of those times.

May your memory be a blessing to those you loved, and loved you back. And I hope you are playing your greatest role now for a higher audience. Rest now, and know you will always be remembered. Your memory will not pass away simply because you did. It will continue to shine on in the work you created, and in the lives of those you enriched while you were here.

I send your family my heartfelt condolences, and hope your spirit is whole again and soaring among the stars. Hopefully our paths will cross the next time around.

So sad to hear about Dan's passing. I met him in LA back in the early 2000s - he was a friend of my brother-in-law. We had a great evening of drinking coffee in Anaheim, discussing acting, and the White Sox. We met Dan only once but I have great memories of that night. He will be missed.
