Maureen Miller Obituary

Maureen Connelly Miller

BRISTOL

Maureen Connelly Miller, a faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully at her home in Seven Lakes, NC, on December 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. Born in Bristol, CT, on August 16, 1936, Maureen was the daughter of the late Leo and Agnes (Barry) Connelly. She attended Bristol schools, graduated from Becker Junior College, and was an active member of St. Joseph Church. Maureen was the beloved wife of Bob Miller, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage. Maureen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She raised three children in Bristol, where she was active in her church and volunteered at local schools. She led a principled life and set an example to all by advocating for human rights, championing equality, and exhibiting compassion for all. She cherished family vacations at their lake house in Maine, where her family connected with the Texas branch of the family and created lasting memories. She enthusiastically cheered on water-skiers, knee-boarders, and bocce players, and celebrated every fish caught. She was also known to be a very competitive setback player, and her strategies often led her team to victory! Maureen loved family ski trips, beach excursions, and spontaneous adventuresnever hesitating when Bob suggested a drive to Vermont for lunch at their favorite covered bridge or a picnic by a river while he fly-fished. In later years, Maureen enjoyed music of all kinds, lunches with friends, and embraced Bob's interest in bird watchingespecially the hummingbirds. Maureen was a loving, kind, caring, and generous person with a great sense of humor and an unwavering faith in the Lord. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Besides her husband, Bob, Maureen is survived by her daughter, Maryann Cary of Southern Pines, NC; her son, Greg Miller (Karen) of Bristol, CT; six grandchildren, Gregory Miller (Kate), Allison Miller (Jon), Patrick Miller (Brienna), Mary Kate Miller (Rob), Chris Cary (his partner, Kayla), and Keegan Cary (Ryan). Of all of the titles she wore in life, she cherished being Gigi to her eight great-grandchildren, Riley and Teddy Miller, Jack, Elle, and Grace Little, Madeline Miller, Ava Konferowicz, and Dico Di Ricco. She is also survived by her brother, Barry Connelly (Phyllis), and sister-in-law, Loretta Miller (Mike), and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Christopher Miller. Those wishing to honor Maureen are invited to make a donation to the charity of your choice. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at First Health Hospice for their compassion and support during Maureen's brief illness. Services will be held at a later date.
