Stefania Duda

1938 - 2021

Stefania (Zielinski) Duda, 82 years old, joined her Heavenly Father peacefully on Aug. 27, 2021 with her family by her side. Born Sept. 19, 1938 in Poland to Helena and Jozef Zielinski. She was happily married to the late Antoni Duda for 56 years. In 1974, Stefania and her family immigrated to the United States in hopes for a prosperous opportunity. She was a hard worker and worked at Creed Monarch for many years up to retirement. Stefania was a sweet and nice "little" lady, she will be remembered by her generosity and always wanting to feed her family. She was a devoted Catholic who belonged to Sacred Heart Church. You'd often find Stefania with her rosary in hand praying. The majority of her life she resided in New Britain and Plainville, Conn., before moving to Port Saint Lucie, Fla. to enjoy her retirement. She then later returned to Connecticut in 2016. Stefania enjoyed spending time with her husband, Antoni, and the rest of her family. You'd often hear her speak highly of her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She loved to have a vegetable garden and tend to flower beds. She enjoyed cooking, feeding her family and for fun would knit different scarves and blankets.

She is survived by her children: Marianna and Roman Kaminski, Janusz and Alina Duda, Slawomir and Patricia Duda, Grazyna and Andrzej Czyzewski; her grandchildren: Jessica Kaminski and David, Christine Kaminski and Kirill, Monika Duda and Tomasz, Aneta Czyzewski and Michael, Marlena Duda, Emily Duda and Steven Duda; her great-grandchildren: Preston Blonshteyn, Liliana and Sabina Duda. She also has a sister in Poland, Stanislawa, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Helena and Jozef Zielinski, her husband Antoni Duda, her siblings, Honorata, Zofia, Antoni, Stanislaw and her Angel great-granddaughter Amelia Duda.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Britain Memorial, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. (Directions: Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit, funeral home is 1½ miles on your right.)

Funeral Services on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass at 9:03 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
