Theresa (Bakaj) Lee, wife of Warren Elmer Lee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21 after an illness. She was born in New Britain, CT on Jan. 27, 1953 to the late Edward J. Bakaj and Clara (Konefal) Bakaj. Theresa grew up in Kensington, CT until she was married on May 5, 1979 after which she resided in Colchester, CT for her remaining years. Theresa was a devoted wife as well as a loving and caring person. She especially enjoyed spending time with her many nieces and nephews. She was an avid fan of local stock car racing and enjoyed watching her husband, cousins, brothers, and nephews compete at local racetracks. Early in life, Theresa worked for Marshalls Department Store for many years. Recently she retired from Stop and Shop in Colchester, CT. For over 30 years, she also worked as the bookkeeper for her husbands business, Eagle Insulation Inc. Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Warren Elmer Lee, and bonus daughters Teresa (Jeff) Wise, Shirley (Bryan) Burch, and Sheila (Brian) Tate, as well as brothers Eddie Bakaj, Michael (Tammie) Bakaj, and sister Dorothy (Edward) Reeve. She also lovingly leaves behind 9 nieces and nephews, 14 great- nieces and nephews, and bonus grandchildren as follows: 11 grand-, 19 great grand-, and 2 great, great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Casa Mia at the Hawthorne, 2421 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin, CT on Saturday, March 30th at 11AM.
