William "Bill" Troy

1943 - 2019

To my beloved Prince, for a brief moment in time, we had Camelot. I will love you forever, Cheryl. William "Bill" Troy of Port Charlotte, Fla., born Feb. 15, 1943, passed on Friday, May 31, 2019. Bill was born in New Britain, Conn., and graduated from New Britain High School in 1962. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1963. As a corporal, he served in Vietnam in 1965. He was a Purple Heart recipient. Bill was discharged with Honors as a sergeant on 10-6-1967. Bill began work for UPS on Dec. 7, 1967, where he worked for 36 years. He drove tractor trailer doubles until he retired in December of 2003. Bill is predeceased by his father, Frank Troy, and his mother, Claire Troy (Schreibert). Bill is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cheryl Troy (Presmarita), a brother, Robert Troy of Florida, brother-in-law, Tom Presmarita of Connecticut, daughter, Kristen Troy, and granddaughter, Jondle of Connecticut, daughter and son-in-law, Elaina Donofrio Roche and Sean Roche of Massachusetts, and son, Vincent Donofrio of Massachusetts. Bill was an incredible man who brought joy to everyone he met and will be missed dearly. The sacrifices he made for both his country and his family will never be forgotten. Bill will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
