Charlene Ann Henderson, "Charlie", of New Milford, CT, gently passed away at home Monday November 8, 2021 at the age of 61.
She was born March 17, 1960 in Danbury, CT, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Arbesmann) Hager; she graduated from Bethel High School in 1978, and then attended Naugatuck Community College. On July 25 1992 Charlie married Peter J. Henderson Jr. in Harrybrooke Park in New Milford. She worked for fifteen years at Rogg Manufacturing in New Milford as a machinist. Charlie had a passion for local history, in particular, chronicling the men of the 17 th Regiment ,CT volunteer Infantry who fought for the Union during the Civil War. Beyond her quizzical mind Charlie had the most sincere loving heart, a heart as big and beautiful as her blue eyes. Charlie also loved writing and traveling and was an extremely good dancer and singer.
Besides her beloved husband Peter, Charlie is survived by a brother in Law Kenneth Henderson of Bangor ME and sister in law Mary Anne Henderson of Danbury, CT.
The family would like to thank the 911 operators who answered there call, the EMT's and New Milford Police officers who arrived to help and the Lillis Funeral Home staff. Everyone involved was so helpful and show so much compassion.
A memorial services will take place at a later date. Contributions in Charlie's memory may be made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children or the Civil War American Battlefield Trust.
