Raymond S. Ferris
Raymond S. Ferris, 66, of Litchfield passed away June 12, 2021 at Danbury Hospital.
He was born Feb. 6, 1955, a son of the late Albert and Gladys Ferris. He was a member of the Class of 1974 at NMHS where he played football and made life-long friends.
Ray's passion was woodworking, and he fulfilled his dream of owning his own contracting busi-ness and building houses. He ended his working days designing, fabricating and installing cus-tom stairs and railings. His artistry lives on in homes across CT. He was happiest working for himself and sharing knowledge of his craft with his sons.
Ray, in his prime, enjoyed socializing on the golf course, at the poker table and helping others. He was a founding member and first treasurer of the former Kent Rod and Gun Club.
He will be remembered as someone who believed in the value of a handshake, who placed fam-ily and friends before himself, enjoyed a good grilled steak and cold Budweiser after a long day of work and who lived life on his terms.
Ray is survived by his sons, Zachariah, Benjamin, Jacob and wife Danielle Ferris, a granddaugh-ter Lily, goddaughter Jennifer Lee, and former wife Lesly Ferris. He was predeceased by his be-loved German Shepherds, Amber, Abigail and Bear.
He wished to be cremated. Burial will be private. His sons appreciate donations in his memory to Loaves and Fishes, P.O. Box 2065, New Milford, CT 06776 or online at loavesandfishesnewmil-ford.org for its building fund.

I played football for four years with Ray. He was a real talker; a truly friendly and decent individual. I'm truly sorry to hear of his passing.

My deepest sympathy to Lesly, Zack, Ben, Jacob and family. Many years of laughter and family gatherings. A few weeks in the 80´s Ray was at our house daily redoing our kitchen with Gordie and building our dinning room addition. My love to you all! Missy
