Rosemary Woolwich
Rosemary Ring Woolwich of Bridgewater, CT, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Danbury, CT, at the age of 81. She was born January 24, 1940 in New Britain, CT, daughter of the late William and Mary Keena Ring. Rosemary is survived by her husband Elliott Woolwich of Bridgewater, CT, her son Alan Woolwich of Viera, FL, daughters Ellen Woolwich of Ault, CO, and Jennifer Woolwich of Asheville, NC, siblings Margery Ring Leuschner of Blacksburg, VA, Jerome Ring of Woodbridge, VA, and James Ring of Oak Island, NC. She was also the sister of the late William Ring, Jr. of Beverly, MA and Robert Ring of New Britain, CT.
Rosemary was a dedicated educator with a BA and MA in Education from Central Connecticut State University and a 6th Year degree in Education Administration from Southern Connecticut State University. She taught in the Connecticut Public Schools System, including 20 years as a Special Education Teacher with Danbury Public Schools. She was also President of the American Association of University Women-Danbury Chapter, and a member of the American Federation of Teachers, as well as the National Education Association. In addition, Rosemary was involved with civic activities including the Girl Scouts, the Bridgewater Country Fair, the Bridgewater Grange, the Bridgewater Senior Center, and Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford, CT, 06776. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of The Lakes Church, 3 Old Town Park Rd, New Milford, CT, 06776, followed by a luncheon reception at the Bridgewater Senior Center, 132 Hut Hill Rd, Bridgewater, CT, 06752. All attending must wear a mask.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Rosemary Woolwich on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Bridgewater Hilltop Senior Center, 132 Hut Hill Road, Bridgewater, CT 06752 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Family, friends, neighbors and colleagues are all welcome to attend and share memorable experiences with Rosemary. A light luncheon and beverages will be served. Based on my bring the original DPS Special Ed. secretary and getting to know all the special education teachers - it truly was a pleasure getting to know Rosemary and also her involvement with my special ed. daugther at Stadley Rough School. She truly was a wonderful special education teacher. God Bless Her and I hope that many happy memories can bring peace and harmoney to your hearts and minds.
