Lowell Lee Tate, age 83, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Born on August 18, 1942, in Parrottsville, Mr. Tate graduated from St. James High School and attended East Tennessee State University. Mr. Tate was a member of the US Army and US Army Reserves for 31 years as a cook . He proudly served in the Gulf War and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He also retired from the State of Tennessee.

Throughout his life, Mr. Tate enjoyed working on the family farm, automotive mechanics, car shows and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Tate was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Mary Etta Ellenburg Tate.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Miller Tate; son, Stephen Tate; daughter, Lauren Tate Booze and her husband Webster Booze; grandchildren Dia Marie Lozada and Brady Weems; sister, Joyce Tate Seaton and husband, Buddy Seaton. He is also survived by several close nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous close friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many wonderful people who have been there throughout the years for showing their tremendous love and support.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Salem Lutheran Church, 3001 Salem Road, Parrottsville, TN from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Reverend Norman Deal officiating. Interment will be held in the Caney Branch Cemetery, 525 Shady Lane, Greeneville, TN 37743, immediately following the service.
