He passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Anyone who know Sam aka "Poncho" knew he was a one of a kind man. He didn't know a stranger. He loved working on his dozer and loved working in his yard with his flowers, and loved being with his family. He was a devoted husband of 45 years and was a great father to all of his children, even the ones he picked up along the way in life.

He is proceeded in death by his mother and step father Katherine Louise Styles and Luther Styles, and father Samuel Stephens, brothers Lester Stephens and Edward "Bill" Stephens.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Stephens, Son and daughter in law Snapper and Stephanie Webb, Daughter and son in law April and Bobby Gilliland, Daughter and son in law Kelly Stephens and Titto, and son Randall Stephens. He has 9 grandchildren, Kody Brady, Taylor Webb, Shane Webb, Kelcey Stephens Ford, Levi Webb Wyatt Browning, Gage Gilliland, Kaylee Stephens and Khloe Stephens and One great granddaughter Lilith Webb. He has many kids he called his children throughout life and loved like his own. He is also survived by his sister Mary Kay Helms of Texas and Paula Stephens of Texas. He has several Aunts, cousins and lots of nieces and nephews he adored too. He leaves behind 3 fur babies Willie Nelson, Minnie Pearl and Sissy. He had a work family with Perryman Construction he loved and spent the rest of his time with. Chris, Gene, Arthur, and many many others there were his second family. He loved creating art with those machines.

There will be no services right now. Family will announce at a later date a celebration of life.
