Russell Conner Obituary
Russell P. Conner
Russell was born on on November 28, 1949, in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Llewellyn A. Conner and Emma E. (Russell) Conner.
He lived most of his life in Newport attending St. Joseph Grammar School and DeLa Salle Academy.
He worked for twenty years at the James L. Maher Center in transportation and later as a dispatcher. He loved his job and the clients her served and they loved him as well.
In his younger days he was a rebel. He loved Rock & Roll, bad habits, Bacardi Rum, and Marlboro cigarettes.
He was an avid sports fan and loved his Red Sox, Celtics and the New England Patriots.
Along with his father and mother he is predeceased by his lifetime partner Richard Bergeron with whom he shared a home and many happy years together, his brothers David A. Conner and Stephen F. Conner and his nephew Justin Conner.
Russell is survived by his brother Michael L. Conner (Diane) of Middletown and his sisters Kathleen L. Page (Paul) of Sebring, FL, Debora A. Stinton (Andrew) of Portsmouth and Mary E. Levrault (Leo) of Somerset, MA, sister-in-law Mary F. Conner of Newport, his nieces and nephews Christian Benicase, Tracey McCullough, James and Kelly Conner, Robert, Lori and Jason Shellman, Stephen F. Stinton, Nicole S. Jacobsen, Jocelyn, Jenna and Jill Levrault, many great-nieces, nephews, cousins, his longtime friend Randy Hoyt and his partner Jeanne Travassos of West Warwick.
A wonderful son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Russell will always be remembered as a kind, thoughtful and gentle soul who loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Per Russell's request, burial will be private.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center for the exemplary care he received during his stay.

Like it was yesterday, I remember all the fun we had at the Congdon Avenue house. Geography has taken us to different places but that in no way diminishes our love for our family. Rest in peace sweet cousin. God bless you!
